Hello, as I, I am sure you all have heard of a show called “Batman”. The multi-million dollar, world’s most eligible bachelor. His studly looks, that strong jutted jaw, those dark eyes. He was a dark hero. He was the kind of hero that didn’t always do things by the law’s standards. Our kind of hero, he left the whole ‘I am a good guy’ crime fighter stereotype.
Ladies, and gentlemen, this has all been flushed down the toilet. There is a new show out for the Batman series; the title is “The Batman”. Not just “Batman”, but “The Batman”. Now don’t get me wrong, I actually tried to watch it, and I did. When I saw the Joker during a preview, I was like “I got to see that.” But when I saw the actual show… I was thinking that this had to be the biggest mistake Warner Brothers has made since “Baby Looney Toons”. Come on, we had a younger version with “Tiny Toons”. However that’s a different story. Either way, Warner Brothers may have gone a step to far in the series. I was okay with “Batman Beyond”. That series was rather good, however this one has trashed the Batman name. That familiar jaw line, and attitude, its all gone. With the art style of “Jackie Chan Adventures”, I must say this show may make the batman series a former shell of itself for all the fans of the original series. Don’t think I totally hate it; there is a saving grace, the Joker. I think the art style, be it the same, is good for him. Other than that, I just don’t like this new Batman series. I think Warner Brothers needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.
The story would have possibly been a good one, however, it goes back to the animation. I feel that the animation, if bad, can ruin any story line. The only possible way I can forgive the animation mistakes, is if the story is spectacular, unfortunately for “The Batman” it isn’t. Maybe Warner Brothers will realize the mistake they have made and stop this show at season one.
